The fibers of the rectus abdominis have an insertion on the pubic bone and pubic symphsis. Too much mobility and/or inflammation associated with the pubis needs to treated by a skilled practitioner in combination with the correct abdominal training exercises to reinforce this structure, be for rehab or for sport injury prevention as is classically found in soccer and ice hockey. In order to build muscle fibers in this specific region, planks will not get the job done. Several exercises will be needed. The anatomy and these exercises are taught as part of Legacy’s Professional Development Workshop Series.
