Weekly Newsletter 3/20/2024

Legacy Sport & Wellness Center hosted 4 days of an ELDOA Certification Course, Level 1&2 Combination. It is always our pleasure to introduce new students to the ELDOA and to welcome returning students who wish to retake courses and extend their command of the material. As one of the students retaking this course emailed us today: Thank you so much Claudia! Your insights and hospitality always adds to the experience. This weekend was full of wonderful refreshers and helpful information. In the moment it’s difficult to find my confidence with anxiety throwing in wrenches, but I truly enjoy the courses.

Please pass along my gratitude to Scott as well! Like everyone tells us, we are so lucky to live locally. See y’all soon!

The remainder of March is filled with new and returning clients scheduled to visit the Center for multi-day Wellness Immersions. Check the Newsletter for last minute program changes and start times.

This Saturday, Scott is teaching another FLO Workout at 9:00 am followed by ELDOA Classic Group Workout from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Immediately following the ELDOA is Open Sauna until 1:30 pm.

2024 GYM CHANGE

DROP IN GYM

$25.00 or $20.00 with a Legacy Card

What is Open Gym and how is it different from a Drop In Gym Session? Legacy Sport & Wellness is a private facility with a Cardiovascular Center, Group Exercise Area, Dry Sauna and Recovery Program, and a fully equipped Gym. These services are reserved for our private clients who have a custom designed Home Program. An Open Gym Session is a specific block of time that we schedule throughout the month in which clients can come and take advantage of the services we have to offer. For example, many of our clients have experienced back pain at some point in their life and our Gym has several pieces of specific equipment to help them which are typically not found in most other facilities.

During Open Gym sessions, often times a workout is written on the white board for clients to follow and post workout myo-fascial stretching/ELDOA exercises are suggested. If necessary, clients are permitted to take shoes and socks off for specific exercises. All the participants who attend Legacy’s Open Gym or Drop In Gym Sessions respect our NO VIDEO policy. Open Gym Sessions are never over-crowded therefore our equipment is always available…no wait for the equipment.

If you have a Home Program, Sauna Card or a Group Class Card, you can drop in and workout in our Gym for $20.00.

Without a card, the fee is $25.00.

Wellness News

Last Saturday morning Group ELDOA workout was reminiscent of pre-Covid days…the class was packed and the session was amazing.

The ELDOA Group Workout is meant to compliment your Home Program. The ELDOA exercises have a number of benefits, one of which is to improve your posture. Our recommendation is to do at least one ELDOA a day and come to Group Workouts a couple of times a month. You will be amazed at the results.

Sports and Performance News

This past weekend Mike Modano was honored by the Dallas Stars. A statue of Mike in a familiar action pose was unveiled at the American Airlines Center. Mike was one of Scott’s first professional hockey clients and his jersey hangs in Legacy’s foyer.

Scott worked with Mike and his team for several off-seasons and then Scott and Cleo Bates began to host Sports Performance off-season Camps for professional hockey players. These camps were the first of their kind and have resulted in additional professional camps for other sports. Professional organizations such as the Los Angelos Dodgers, the Washington Capitals, the Washington Nationals, the Sacramento Kings, and the United States Military, just to name a few, have all consulted with Legacy Sport & Wellness. The Washington Wizards, Steve Kerr and the staff of the Golden State Warriors have all visited our Performance Center for specific programming, education, and ELDOA Group Workouts.

If you are an athlete, amateur or professional, you need to be using the SomaTraining and ELDOA exercise techniques. If you’re not integrating these exercise modalities into your regular programming, you are falling behind! The modern-day model of bigger, faster, stronger is limiting in its long-term effects. In fact, if this is your only approach to training the changes of getting injured are greater and the longevity of your career is shorter.

If you are an athlete reading this Newsletter, our advice to you is simple: start using the SomaTraining and ELDOA exercises. If you don’t know how to begin, start with one of the most frequently used ELDOA exercise postures of the spine, which can be located on our website. For the best results, each athlete needs a customized program specific to their body and the goals of their sport.

Lifestyle & Recovery Center

Sauna is available for private sessions. Open Sauna dates in March can be found on the Workout and Events Calendar of this Newsletter. We host our popular Sauna Ed course in the Learn by Doing format. For course specifics, see below. You may book a Private Sauna Course for you and your friends.

The next Sauna Education (Certification) Course is scheduled for the month of March. Enrollment is limited to eight (8) people: email Claudia directly at claudiadzelazny@gmail.com to sign up.

Topics of discussion include the importance of sweating, what is the optimal time for a single sauna session, what is the optimal temperature to use in a Dry Sauna, how to use cold water exposure by itself, or in combination with the dry sauna, and the importance of drinking water.

As part of the Course Theory, all the participants complete the Ruffier (Pulse) Test. This simple test can be used in different aspects of a Wellness or Sports Performance Program including the length of time in a Sauna Session and exposure to cold water.

Participants learn to use a Dry Sauna effectively and how to safely begin cold water exposure. The course concludes with rest in our Recovery area and a bottle of mineral water from the Legacy Water Bar.

We would like to host a combination of ELDOA Level 1 (in the one-day format) combined with an Introduction to Myo-fascial Stretching in 2024.

We ask all ELDOA Practitioners – at any level -to visit the official ELDOA website – eldoavoyer.com – to make sure your contact information is accurate.

Having your correct contact information is very important: so potential clients can find you and so you can receive important information from the Founder and Administrative Office in Dallas.

The way Legacy has our School set up in Dallas allows for Students to travel from all parts of the country for training and continuing education, while at the same time creating the opportunity to invest some of their personal time in their self-care using our Gym and Lifestyle-Recovery Center. We believe that this one-two combination can’t be beaten and we invite you to enroll in a course with us in 2024.
