Weekly Newsletter 05/01/2024

By May 1, 2024May 6th, 2024Legacy News

The Stars quest for a Stanley Cup Championship began last week with a first round match-up with the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Las Vegas Golden Nuggets. Last night in Game 4 in Las Vegas, Jake Oettinger and the Dallas Stars came from behind to tie the series at 2 games apiece and send Game 5 back to Dallas Wednesday night at American Airlines Center. The Dallas Morning News published a story about Dallas’ goaltender, Jake Oettinger, and how he is the key to a deep Stanley Cup run. Max Domi, former Dallas Star, now a Toronto Maple Leaf, referred Jake to Legacy Sport & Wellness Center, knowing how much Jake would value the services that we offer – customized exercise training, soft tissue work, high quality, non-GMO food, the finest in water selection, and the best dry sauna and recovery area in town.

In this week’s Newsletter, you can find Weekend Workout Exercise classes and times for the month of May, Open Gym and Open Sauna times, and the updated Summer School dates.

EXERCISE TUTORIALS

Beginning Fridays in May at 10:00 am Clients and members of our community can schedule 30-minute private Tutorials with Claudia. The emphasis will be on ELDOA and Myo-fascial Stretching (MFS).

We recommend a client arrive 10-15 minutes early to warm-up before their session begins and Claudia will recommend 1 or 2 things to do upon completion of the TUTORIAL Session.

The purpose of this 30-minute session is for a client to work on different aspects of their Home Program under a watchful eye and make corrections to their quality of their home exercises.

Sessions run every 30 minutes and can be scheduled directly with Claudia in the Business Office.

For an optimal outcome, clients do their program during the week, come for the 30-minute tutorial on Friday and then come to ELDOA Classic on Saturday morning.

Purchase the Series of three for $75.00

or one private session for $50.00

Wellness News

Last weekend Wellness Workout Series was devoted to exercises and training to enhance digestion, and ELDOA. If you missed that weekend series, we plan to host it again in the very near future. The workout for digestion featured a specific warm-up to facilitate the structures involved in the digestion process. That was immediately followed by a circuit of exercises and the 30-minute session concluded with myo-fascial stretching (MFS) of the ilio-psoas muscle. We have received an over-whelming amount of positive feedback for this workout session and we plan to offer it again in the month of May, but no later than June.

This weekend’s Wellness Workout Series will focus on the Circulatory System (circulatory workout) and the ELDOA of Spine and sacro-iliac joint.

For our clients who live far away or who are unable to regularly attend Wellness Weekend Workouts, we are working on a solution – we call it Legacy Beyond the Walls. Our tentative plan is to offer at least one live-stream wellness workout weekend series a month and to have a catalog of our most popular group workout available to members of our community. If you follow our Newsletter and this new feature is of interest, contact Claudia in the Business Office.

Sports and Performance News

In Sporting News this week,John Franklin Myers, a product of Greenville High School who played his college football at Stephen F. Austin, is now a Denver Bronco.

John and Solomon Thomas have been team mates the past two seasons with the New York Jets and both spend off-season time in Dallas at Legacy Sport & Wellness where they participate in one-on-one training specific to defensive linemen, using SomaTraining and ELDOA exercises. John and Solomon are both favorites amongst our community and everyone is wishing John the best in this next chapter of his career with the Denver Broncos.

Lifestyle & Recovery Center

Spring is here and our Dry Sauna is running exceptionally hot thanks to John Sandstrom and Rob Licht! Our outdoor Recovery Area is beautiful this time of year with the trees and greenery coming into blossom. It creates the perfect environment to relax, recover, and heal.

Throughout the Spring, look for select days when we offer the Cold Plunge option with Dry Sauna and Recovery.

The next Sauna Education (Certification) Course is scheduled for the month of April. Enrollment is limited to eight (8) people: email Claudia directly at claudiadzelazny@gmail.com to sign up.

Topics of discussion include the importance of sweating, what is the optimal time for a single sauna session, what is the optimal temperature to use in a Dry Sauna, how to use cold water exposure by itself, or in combination with the dry sauna, and the importance of drinking water.

As part of the Course Theory, all the participants complete the Ruffier (Pulse) Test. This simple test can be used in different aspects of a Wellness or Sports Performance Program including the length of time in a Sauna Session and exposure to cold water.

In April we plan to host Sauna Courses and Certifications for student-practitioners and our clients.

The Training Table News

the Training Table is where Wellness and Sports Performance begin!

In the Training Table news this week, Mia and Claudia planted an herb garden:

the Training Table is an area we have dedicated within our Center where clients can set, relax, and enjoy farm fresh high quality meals from Chef Corey and Mia Fradenburg.

In our Newsletter, the Training Table is a section devoted to all topics related to nutrition, cooking, and wellbeing. We would like to introduce a new member of the Legacy team, Mia.

Mia Fradenburg is interning with us with the goal of learning as much about creating a wellness business as she can. She was introduced to ELDOA by her college volleyball coach, who recommended she come to Dallas to study with Scott and the rest of us.

Water Bar News

Water is a big deal at Legacy. In fact, water is Nature’s First Medicine.

We have our favorites and are always stocking new water to try. Varying pH values, different mineral content, with a taste to please even the most finicky water drinker and priced by the bottle or by the case so you save!

Sixty cases of Vellamo were delivered this week. This water has a pH value of 8.3 for those who seek alkaline water. And the taste is delicious.

Essential Oils

What is a Clinical Aromatherapist?

Though it may sound ‘new age’, Aromatherapy has been used since ancient times in primitive and more advanced cultures to assist in restoring health. Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans and Arabians studied and became familiar with aromatic essences, developing essential oils from the process of steam distillation.

During the Renaissance aromatics were the main protection against epidemics, but it wasn’t until 1928 that the term “Aromatherapie” was a term coined by a French chemist.

Aroma is like a language plants use to communicate to other plants, insects, and to the world. Aromatherapy literally means “a therapy using aromas” and draws upon the healing properties of the odorific, volatile essences found within specific parts of aromatic plants and the peel of citrus fruits.

A Clinical Aromatherapist is one of many therapists who work with essential oils. Specialized on the clinical modality, after performing individual consultations, they create personalized programs and formulations to be applied externally. Attention is given to medicinal and therapeutic action of the oils, with emphasis placed on quality, concentration, and potency of the oils based on their botanical origin, plant producing organ, chemical constituents, and biochemical specificity (chemotypes).

Having your correct contact information is very important: so potential clients can find you and so you can receive important information from the Founder and Administrative Office in Dallas.

We believe that this one-two combination can’t be beaten and we invite you to enroll in a course with us in 2024.
