What is the ELDOA?
The ELDOA are postural exercises (LOADS) that you can do yourself with the primary goal being to increase the space within a chosen articulation (joint). As the ELDOA “create space” there is an improvement in joint mechanics, increased blood flow, reduced pressure on the discs, a reduction of pain, spinal disc rehydration, better muscle tone, improved posture, and a sense of well-being and awareness.
Using the ELDOA exercises each day, an individual will see their posture improve, better muscle created, pain reduced, and pressure on the disc in between the vertebrae reduced. The optimum times to use the ELDOA exercises are immediately following a workout or a practice session, and before bed.
Participating in a Group ELDOA Workout once a week enhances the effect of the ELDOA exercise postures.
There are a significant number of ELDOA postures from which a person can benefit. The most frequently used ELDOA exercise postures are: C4-C5 (for the neck), T6-T7 (for the shoulder complex), T8-T9 (for the thoracic region and gravity line), and most importantly, L5-S1 (for the pelvis).
These four exercises, and many others, are taught each week in Legacy’s ELDOA Group Wellness Workout. Everyone, of all ages, can benefit from this ELDOA Group Workout.

December 16, ELDOA 1, a one-day education course, will be taught at Legacy Sport & Wellness. In this course we teach the most frequently used ELDOA postures and we invite anyone who follows our Newsletter to enroll. No prior knowledge of anatomy or biomechanics is required for ELDOA 1 education.

Sports Performance Tip: Athletes spend a large portion of their time training their muscles. In the past, we have spoken about the benefits of Myo-facial Stretching and how it can enhance performance and improve durability; of equal importance, regular soft tissue work, “massage therapy for sports performance”.
Elite athletes and professional teams from all over the world travel to our Center in Dallas to train using our unique system, which integrates several modalities that enhance sports performance and recovery. Cleo Bates, a massage therapist for numerous teams and professional players including the world champion Washington Capitals, provides soft tissue work and exercise programming.
