If you are reading this, it means you survived another year…another New Year’s Eve. Congratulations!
Survival. Is that what life is supposed to be?
I believe there must be more to it than that.
Survival is putting one foot in front of the other and making it to the end. Of course, we put one foot in front of the other every day. We do the dirty work when we must. We adjust plans, chart a new course, redirect and slog on, sometimes with a goal in sight, often adrift.
Just to make it to the end.
And we make resolutions because we don’t think we did very well in the past. We feel we let ourselves down. We failed in some way.
Life is a journey, but it shouldn’t feel like a ‘forced march’.
Resolutions are fine, but they are formal, serious.
Sounds like a board meeting or a trip to the dentist.
Let’s dance our way into 2015, through life!
Create fun for yourself every day, even if you are the only one in on the joke.
Gratitude helps grease the wheel of happiness. Lighthearted joy in being along for the ride removes fear of the unknown.
Yes, we have known heartache and loss. We have sat beside disappointment and failure. We have perhaps been overcome with despair, but here we are because we have a life-force in us that wants us to not just survive but to THRIVE!
I wish you every good thing from here on out. Believe you deserve that. Love yourself and accept this gift of living fully and joyfully. Dance, sing, love through every moment.
Why else would we be here but to
“Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof…
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth…
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you…
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do.”
Be happy.
It’s a choice.
