We have all participated in the science experiments where lead filings were moved across a piece of paper because of the power of a magnet in the hands of our science teacher! We were probably, at that young age, amazed. How did it do that?
Magnets seem to have a magic sticking power.
Though not ‘sticky’, magnets do create a magnetic field...which is a space around the magnet where energy is actually changed.
Magnets have a north pole and a south pole. A north pole will attract the south pole of another magnet, but a north pole will repel the north pole of that same magnet. This is because the energy fields around the same poles of two magnets are moving against each other.
Now take this magnetic concept into the world of thought. Imagine thoughts as having a magnetic field because they do! Science now acknowledges that thought is one of the most powerful energy forces we will ever know. If you are honest with yourself, you can come up with validation of that scientific fact in your own life: when you thought that you were invincible and could accomplish a task, you were and you did…when you thought you were incapable and wouldn’t succeed, you were and you didn’t.
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t…you’re right.” – Henry Ford
Within you resides one of the most powerful magnetic fields on earth: the thoughts you create and nurture in your mind. The wonderful thing about this is that you are in charge! No one has control over your mind or your thoughts, but you. Positive thoughts attract. Negative thoughts repel. It’s that simple. Your thoughts set in motion a whirlwind of energetic activity designed to bring to you the very thing that is in your mind. Whatever thought you hold becomes that sticky magnet, attracting to you either what you want or what you don’t want. Positive thought brings positive emotions resulting in positive results. Negative thought creates negative emotions, bringing more of the same and pushing away what you may say you want, but don’t believe is possible.
“What we think, we become.” – Buddha
That can be the good news or the bad news! You are creating your reality with every thought you bring forth. Your thoughts can change your feelings can shape your actions. Thinking is powerful stuff whether you are creating your moment or creating your lifetime.
“Thought is the blossom; language the bud; action the fruit behind it.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
The even more wonderful thing is that thinking is a skill that can be worked on and honed throughout your lifetime. Some tools for your toolbox include positive thinking quotes, affirmations, positive friends who want the best for you, a lifestyle coach who can gently guide you while holding your feet to the fire.
You can be a magnet that attracts to you all the beautiful, loving, fun-filled things you deserve. The first step is to think it is already done!
I will close with a Stuart Smalley (aka Al Franken from Saturday Night Live) Daily Affirmation: “I am good enough. I am smart enough, and doggone it, people like me.”
Hold that thought and start to draw every good thing into your life!
