2024 GYM CHANGE

DROP IN GYM
$25.00 or $20.00 with a Legacy Card

What is Open Gym and how is it different from a Drop In Gym Session? Legacy Sport & Wellness is a private facility with a Cardiovascular Center, Group Exercise Area, Dry Sauna and Recovery Program, and a fully equipped Gym. These services are reserved for our private clients who have a custom designed Home Program. An Open Gym Session is a specific block of time that we schedule throughout the month in which clients can come and take advantage of the services we have to offer. For example, many of our clients have experienced back pain at some point in their life and our Gym has several pieces of specific equipment to help them which are typically not found in most other facilities.

During Open Gym sessions, often times a workout is written on the white board for clients to follow and post workout myo-fascial stretching/ELDOA exercises are suggested. If necessary, clients are permitted to take shoes and socks off for specific exercises. All the participants who attend Legacy’s Open Gym or Drop In Gym Sessions respect our NO VIDEO policy. Open Gym Sessions are never over-crowded therefore our equipment is always available…no wait for the equipment.

If you have a Home Program, Sauna Card or a Group Class Card, you can drop in and workout in our Gym for $20.00.

Without a card, the fee is $25.00.

Wellness News

The Wellness Program organized at Legacy Sport & Wellness Center is designed to teach people about their bodies and to learn how to minimize the use of the medical health system.

When you need a doctor, you need to go to the doctor…but you will not find wellness in the modern health system. The health system is organized to treat the symptoms. Medicine is too specialized now and physicians, at best, have only a few minutes to give lip service to “how to be well”.

Our approach to Wellness uses specific exercises that a person needs in combination with proper nutrition and lifestyle goals. To be well, one needs to work…that means each individual must apply the wellness principles we teach in a consistent routine in order to achieve a result.

The most important pillar in our Wellness Program is EXERCISE…not just “moving your body”. Moving your body is better than nothing, but it is not specific to any one part of the body or an individual person. Everyone is different…their bodies are different, their goals are different, and their current state of well-being is different. A general program results in a general outcome, at best.

A customized Home Program that is completed each week, used in combination with Legacy’s Group Exercise Program and a diet which includes the highest quality food that is not processed, are the most significant pillars to improving wellness.

Saturday, March 30 at 8:30 am, we are bringing back our General Strengthening Workout (used to be called General Conditioning). This 30-minute session is one of three different types of Group Workouts Saturday morning. Immediately following General Strengthening is Legacy’s popular FLO Session. A FLO Session is a fluidic class designed to link and improve the function in multiple regions of the body. For example, to link the foot, ankle, and knee to the lower limb, or the lower limb to the lumbo-sacral region. There are hundreds of possible links that can be taught in this session, which is very popular amongst the athletes with whom we consult. ELDOA Classic workout begins after the FLO Session. This one-hour group ELDOA workout features the most frequently ELDOA postures and their progressions, finishing with either a fluidic Myo-fascial Stretch or any number of our relaxation breathing techniques.

Each workout can benefit everyone: however, if you have an injury or you are de-conditioned at this point in time, the ELDOA is the best choice of the three.

To be well, one goal can be to complete all three classes Saturday morning and then Sauna for circulation and recovery.

Sports and Performance News

Week 10 of Legacy’s Performance Center’s Professional Football off-season program ends this week. The veteran plays we consult with are deep into their programs and the future players have completed their combine preparation and now shift their focus to more important work…improving the quality of their tissue using tools such as Myo-fascial Stretching, ELDOA, proprioception, and FLO Sessions used in combination with a very hot dry sauna and a customized sports performance program.

Solomon Re-signs with the Jets

Congratulations to Solomon Thomas. He re-signed with the New York Jets last week.

In April Newsletters, look for new Sports Performance Tips and brief posts specific to sports performance and how your body works. Also in April, we will update our community about hockey clients and the beginning of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Lifestyle & Recovery Center

Sauna is available for private sessions. Open Sauna dates in March can be found on the Workout and Events Calendar of this Newsletter. We host our popular Sauna Ed course in the Learn by Doing format. For course specifics, see below. You may book a Private Sauna Course for you and your friends.

The next Sauna Education (Certification) Course is scheduled for the month of March. Enrollment is limited to eight (8) people: email Claudia directly at claudiadzelazny@gmail.com to sign up.

Topics of discussion include the importance of sweating, what is the optimal time for a single sauna session, what is the optimal temperature to use in a Dry Sauna, how to use cold water exposure by itself, or in combination with the dry sauna, and the importance of drinking water.

As part of the Course Theory, all the participants complete the Ruffier (Pulse) Test. This simple test can be used in different aspects of a Wellness or Sports Performance Program including the length of time in a Sauna Session and exposure to cold water.

A new shipment of water arrived this week so the Water Bar is fully stocked and cases of water are on sale.

In April we plan to host Sauna Courses and Certifications for student-practitioners and our clients.

We ask all ELDOA Practitioners – at any level -to visit the official ELDOA website – eldoavoyer.com – to make sure your contact information is accurate.

Having your correct contact information is very important: so potential clients can find you and so you can receive important information from the Founder and Administrative Office in Dallas.

The way Legacy has our School set up in Dallas allows for Students to travel from all parts of the country for training and continuing education, while at the same time creating the opportunity to invest some of their personal time in their self-care using our Gym and Lifestyle-Recovery Center. We believe that this one-two combination can’t be beaten and we invite you to enroll in a course with us in 2024.

Client Education News

In April, Education Workshops for clients include a breathing tutorial, a pelvic floor tutorial, and a sauna training workshop in our “learn by doing” format.
