Weekly Newsletter 11/15/2024 A Center of Excellence

In this week’s Newsletter, the Weekend Wellness Workout Series is posted and the schedule for Fall School next week is outlined.

In Sporting News, some familiar athletes are discussed and a new College athlete is highlighted after his visit to Legacy’s Performance Center.

FALL SCHOOL: Dates and Curriculum set! Seats are starting to fill and enrollment is available via legacyperformwell.com

We have Payment Plans for Multi-Courses and for a Single Course. Website, eShop, under Tab that says Payment Plans.

Once you have enrolled and paid for at least the first Course, we will email the manuals. There will be no physical binders for any of the courses being taught.

Legacy introduces Tamara Fox, a Certified Pilates Instructor who is going down the VOYER rabbit hole as ELDOA and SomaTraining Student Practitioner. Tamara is often Scott’s ‘guinea pig’ during Saturday morning group workouts. She will be working in the business office and helping out with the Schools. If you are an ELDOA Practitioner, look for an email in the near future that introduces hers and makes her another point of contact if you have questions or concerns.

New: The on-line series for pumping for the pelvis and spine is complete. The link will be available for download this weekend on our website, eShop tab.

the Training Table & Water Bar News

Every week, Mia brings a new batch of grass-fed, grass-finished bone broth as well as a new batch of Kombucha, flavored with herbs she planted along the Legacy drive. Grass finished meat is in our freezer – our prices haven’t increased due to the dock strike or the cost of fuel or the Hurricanes in Florida or the recent election.

She is launching her website for packages of Meaties! For purchase at Legacy and now on line. $6.00 & $12.00 Meaties in the Training Table, but supply is limited. Website: eatmeaties.com. 16 grams of grass fed, grass finished protein. She can bring your order to Legacy for pick up, which saves you shipping costs.

Mia has another great idea for Legacy clients. More on that this in this Newsletter!

Wellness News

This weekend Wellnes workout Series is a combination of two training sessions: Circulatory & Active Recovery is scheduled at 8:30 am followed immediately with Myo-fascial Stretching (MFS) at 9:30 am. The Recovery Center Breathing Area (new) and the Dry Sauna will be open from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Before 2024 comes to an end, look for one new Group Exercise Session to be added to our catalog – BREATH. This group session will focus on breath work, training of the pelvic floor and transverse muscle of the abdomen, coupled with specific awareness exercises.

Look for this group session and a Tutorial in the near future.

Last Saturday morning, Scott taught a 30-minute Tutorial on Factors of Progression (FOP) with respect to the ELDOA and how to create the optimal amount of maximum of fascial tension in an ELDOA posture. Additional topics included “wall time”, the benefit of TV L5, what is myofascial stretching, and what is awareness.

This Tutorial was recorded live and will be made available this month on the website, Legacy eShop section.

In 2025, look for more Tutorials, offered in combination with Group Workouts, both live and posted in the eShop section.

For optimal results, combine the Wellness Workout Series with a customized Home Program.

Cardiac Center News

If you are new to our community, or have not visited our Center in Dallas, we have an area in our gym dedicated to Cardiovascular Health and Training. Clients use the area for a proper warm-up to their private sessions and group workouts. On the white board in the Cardiac Center there are several different workouts clients can choose to do. Each workout targets a different part of the cardiovascular system. The Cardiac Center is used for aerobic training programs and testing, too.

Most people think of VO2 Max in the context of sports performance, but the research shows that it is a strong indicator of wellness, and the capacity to fight disease. In the Cardio section below, we provided a small chart about VO2 Max and this Fall, John Sandstrom and Scott plan to introduce a new program for regular and out of town clients in which to participate. The program includes steady state cardio training, integral training, small semi-private training sessions, a customized cardiovascular training program based upon VO2 Max testing results, and more.

Sports & Performance News

In this week’s Legacy Sport News, we have three stories to share.

JFM is featured for another week with a great performance against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. John is posting All-Pro type numbers this year on his new team, the Denver Broncos. Last weekend against the Chiefs, John had a number of solo tackles and a sack of Patrick Mahomes.

In Pro Hockey news, one of Legacy’s favorite pro hockey players in the world and a client of Scott & Cleo, Max Domi, is making headline news with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Max Worth Every Penny

In collegiate athletics, Camp Wagner had a solid performance this week after coming to Dallas and working with Scott and Cleo and taking the Saturday ELDOA Group Workout.

What is the optimal posture to use when taking a sauna?

What is the optimal temperature range when using the sauna for sweating?

Is there a difference between a dry sauna, an infa-red sauna, and a steam bath?

These questions and many more are answered in detail in Legacy’s Comprehensive Sauna Certification Course.

The next Sauna Certification Course will be taught during Fall School on November 24th at 5:00 pm after the Strapping Certification Course ends.

Registration is open for Fall School: Clients are welcome to enroll to learn about the benefits of time in the Sauna and how to safely begin a Sauna Program.

Topics of discussion include the importance of sweating, what is the optimal time for a single sauna session, what is the optimal temperature to use in a Dry Sauna, how to use cold water exposure by itself, or in combination with the dry sauna, and the importance of drinking water.

Fall School

The Dallas weather is perfect for Recovery (after your sauna) outdoors or inside on our Zero-Gravity chairs!

As part of the Course Theory, all the participants complete the Ruffier (Pulse) Test. This simple test can be used in different aspects of a Wellness or Sports Performance Program including the length of time in a Sauna Session and exposure to cold water.

The Legacy Butcher Box – Mia Fradenburg

Winter Is Coming! Mia is making Beef Stew and Shephard’s Pie with grass fed and finished beef plus organic vegetables. Pick up your next quick and nutritious dinner at Legacy.

Meaties, a Mia innovation on the snack chip, is a great snack when you need some clean protein. They sell out fast at Legacy, but you may purchase on line and have delivered to Legacy to save shipping costs.

Reach out if interested in ordering a Butcher Box or special cuts: barbellsandbrats@gmail.com

eatmeaties.com for Mia’s packaged jerky snacks or get at Legacy, 16 grams of protein (grass fed, grass finished) per serving.

The Water Bar

Water is a big deal at Legacy. In fact, water is Nature’s First Medicine. Three pallets of water were de;ivered Monday.

Buy water in bulk at the old pricing through this weekend. Prices will increase due to shipping costs doubling. We are working on a solution. One idea is a Water Club for those who buy in bulk. We have several clients who take advantage of this service. Once details are fleshed out, we will invite you to participate.
