EXERCISE TUTORIALS

In the month of June, Friday mornings, Claudia will be working with clients on ELDOA and/or their Home Programs. Sessions are organized into 30-minute blocks of time and begin at 10:00 am.

We recommend a client arrive 10-15 minutes early to warm-up before their session begins and Claudia will recommend 1 or 2 things to do upon completion of the TUTORIAL Session.

The purpose of this session is to improve upon exercise quality and training.

Sessions run every 30 minutes and can be scheduled directly with Claudia in the Business Office.

For an optimal outcome, clients do their program during the week, come for the 30-minute tutorial on Friday and then come to ELDOA Classic on Saturday morning.

Purchase a Series of three sessions for $65.00 or one private session for $25.00

Wellness News

This weekend’s Wellness Series begins at 9:00 am with a 30-minute FLO Session. A FLO Session is a Movement Class with continuous rhythmic exercises for different regions of the body. At 9:30 a 60-minute Myo-fascial Stretching Workout, which features the common fascial stretches for the lower body, upper body, and trunk. MFS is beneficial for every person and is an excellent compliment to the ELDOA.

As part of Legacy’s Lecture Series, Mia will give an informal talk about Nutrition. The Lecture begins at 10:30 am. Open Sauna runs from 10:30 to 1:30.

Education and sharing information are one of the Pillars of Legacy Sport & Wellness Center. Education News and information about Workshops, Lectures, Professional Course Work, and complimentary Client Tutorials can be found below in the Education Section of the Newsletter.

If you are new to the world of Sauna and would like to learn more about many of the benefits, Legacy Sport & Wellness Center plans to host a 2-hour Workshop for clients and community members twice in the month of July – July 13 and July 27. Enrollment is limited so please contact Claudia in the Business Office.

Cardiac Center News

If you are new to our community, or have not visited our Center in Dallas, we have an area in our gym dedicated to Cardiovascular Training. Clients use the area for a proper warm-up to their private sessions and group workout. The Cardiac Center is used for aerobic training programs and testing, too.

Friday morning in the month of June, Claudia is available for private sessions from 10:00 am to noon. Sessions are booked in 30-minute blocks and one or more blocks can be scheduled. Coaching is specific to exercises in your Home Program or Spine Gymnastics (the movements of the spine). The fee is $25.00 per 30-minute session or $65.00 for a series of three 30-minute sessions.

Sports Performance News

June 17-20 the Performance Center hosts a four-day Camp for Professional Hockey Players. During Camp hours, the group exercise area will be unavailable.

Mini-camp for Professional Football Teams concluded last week. For the players in our community, the next phase of training involves SomaTraining and Myo-fascial Stretching in order to prepare for Training Camp at the end of July.

With Summer here, typically activities and workout sessions increase. If you are exercising outdoors, be sure to maintain adequate levels of hydration. For example, if you sweat more you need to replenish your body with more water. Dehydration and stress are the two worst enemies for the connective tissue – FASCIA!

Upon completion of your summer activities or games, allow time for several specific Myo-fascial Stretches (MFS). MFS following a workout is optimal because your body is warm and you want to normalize your tissue from the work session. If your time is limited after a workout, then do your stretches at night – TV Stretch/ELDOA.

Lifestyle & Recovery Center

The Dry Sauna is running hot!

To learn about some of the benefits of Dry Sauna, we have two Sauna Workshop scheduled – July 13 and July 27. These workshops are about two hours in length and are guided by Scott. The class size is limited. Contact Claudia in the Business Office.

Indoor and Outdoor Recovery options are available.

Legacy’s four-hour Sauna Certification Course (SomeTraining Program) is offered in Summer School. To enroll, go to eShop on the Legacy website. This is scheduled for August 9 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.

Topics of discussion include the importance of sweating, what is the optimal time for a single sauna session, what is the optimal temperature to use in a Dry Sauna, how to use cold water exposure by itself, or in combination with the dry sauna, and the importance of drinking water.

As part of the Course Theory, all the participants complete the Ruffier (Pulse) Test. This simple test can be used in different aspects of a Wellness or Sports Performance Program including the length of time in a Sauna Session and exposure to cold water.

the Training Table News

the Training Table is where Wellness and Sports Performance begin!

the Training Table is an area we have dedicated within our Center where clients can sit, relax, and enjoy farm fresh high quality meals from Chef Corey and Mia Fradenburg.

Legacy and Mia are making Kombucha!
Legacy Kombucha is ready and there are two flavors: one is Ginger and Berries and the other Ginger, Citrus and Herbs.

CLINICAL AROMATHERAPY – Claudia Zelazny

There are a number of essential oils that are beneficial. The top five in my formulas are: Eucalyptus, Bergamot, Frankincense, Lavender, and Ylang-Ylang.

In the Practice of Aromatherapy, one learns about the properties of each essential oil, how they are produced, and how to create specific formulas.

Medical Aromatherapy is practiced by doctors in European countries. In France, this is called aromatic medicine and is usually administered internally or by diffusion as well as via the skin.

Holistic Aromatherapy is practiced by certified aromatherapists and other health care practitioners to create formulas usually used through body massage or other body application.

Clinical Aromatherapy, which is what I practice, is practiced by certified aromatherapists, specialized on the clinical modality, who consult and create personalized programs and formulations to be applied externally. Attention is given to medicinal and therapeutic action of the oils, their botanical organ, plant producing organ, chemical constituents and biochemical specificity. This practice can be seen as a complementary or preventative therapy, within alternative medicine, taking into consideration the person as a whole, as well as the effects the oils produce on the body.

Water Bar News

Water is a big deal at Legacy. In fact, water is Nature’s First Medicine.

Buy water in bulk during the month of May. Prices will increase in June. Shipping costs have doubled. We are working on a solution. One idea is a Water Club for those who buy in bulk. We have several clients who take advantage of this service. Once details are fleshed out, we will invite you to participate.

Sixty cases of Vellamo were delivered last week. This water has a pH value of 8.3 for those who seek alkaline water. And the taste is delicious. An additional 80 cases of various Legacy waters arrived Thursday. Another Texas summer is close at hand: staying hydrated is easy with Legacy’s Water Bar.!
