What is Myo-fascial Stretching (MFS)?
Muscles are three dimensional in shape with multiple sites of attachment and fascia is the thin “skin” weaving into and surrounding the muscle tissue, “linking” various structures together in a chain that includes the joint or joint capsule.
In order to stretch a specific muscle, it is better to consider it as the link in a specific chain extending from the toes to the top of the head. A stretch position will be chosen to precisely solicit the tension of the whole fascial chain in order to correct the specific muscle link.
With Myofascial Stretching the goal is not to gain flexibility of a muscle, but to improve the quality of the movement of the tissues in relation to one another. Myofascial stretching is the only type of stretching that respects this organization.
Often, a MFS is used to help make an ELDOA posture less mechanical and more beneficial for the client/student.
2024 GYM CHANGE
DROP IN GYM
$25.00 or $20.00 with a Legacy Card
What is Open Gym and how is it different from a Drop In Gym Session? Legacy Sport & Wellness is a private facility with a Cardiovascular Center, Group Exercise Area, Dry Sauna and Recovery Program, and a fully equipped Gym. These services are reserved for our private clients who have a custom designed Home Program. An Open Gym Session is a specific block of time that we schedule throughout the month in which clients can come and take advantage of the services we have to offer. For example, many of our clients have experienced back pain at some point in their life and our Gym has several pieces of specific equipment to help them which are typically not found in most other facilities.
During Open Gym sessions, often times a workout is written on the white board for clients to follow and post workout myo-fascial stretching/ELDOA exercises are suggested. If necessary, clients are permitted to take shoes and socks off for specific exercises. All the participants who attend Legacy’s Open Gym or Drop In Gym Sessions respect our NO VIDEO policy. Open Gym Sessions are never over-crowded therefore our equipment is always available…no wait for the equipment.
If you have a Home Program, Sauna Card or a Group Class Card, you can drop in and workout in our Gym for $20.00.
Without a card, the fee is $25.00.
Wellness News
Legacy has a new face in the Center!
Mia Fradenburg is interning with us with the goal of learning as much about creating a wellness business as she can. She was introduced to ELDOA by her college volleyball coach, who recommended she come to Dallas to study with Scott and the rest of us.
Mia has a business called “Nourish within Nutrition“. As she describes it: “I spoke with Scott last weekend about how our society likes to put things in separate boxes. Doctors specialize in one body system and personal trainers like to specialize in one modality, which typically means that we neglect to see how one part fits into the bigger picture. Even though we do it multiple times a day, many people don’t think twice about what they eat or drink. Most people know the benefits of proper nutrition in terms of athletic performance and body composition but many people think that the ‘symptoms’ they experience day in and day out (low energy, poor digestion brain fog, mood) are normal. I believe that the root of many of these issues can often be traced back to how we are nourishing ourselves – in fact, I struggled with many of these myself and saw great improvements by focusing on food quality and the nutrient density of what I was consuming.
If you are interested in receiving nutrition coaching, please feel free to reach out to me. I am just starting out my nutrition coaching business, Nourish Within Nutrition, and would love to work with you in creating a plan for any kind of goal or problem you have. If you just have a question about nutrition, feel free to ask away!”

Sports and Performance News
Many of you may remember Patrik Nemeth when he played for the Dallas Stars, and his wife Towe. Patrik plays professional hockey in Switzerland now and just completed his season. The two spent the last week in Dallas getting personal programs and taking advantage of the training we offer and our world class Sauna.
You know you have a nice Sauna when two Scandanavians travel half way round the world and use your sauna every day.
Towe had ACL surgery and was working on exercises in her Home Program to maintain her knee. With two boys under the age of 4, Scott implemented a Program to improve her awareness of her low ABS and to train her pelvic floor and TVA.
Lifestyle & Recovery Center
The Recovery Center has seen heavy Sauna use from clients who took the Sauna Course or Client Tutorial. They are making the most out of the Course information as they work their program…coming and doing Sauna and Recovery.
We plan on cleaning the Sauna on Monday, April 22. Please call the Center if you want to Sauna in the afternoon.
The next Sauna Education (Certification) Course is scheduled for the month of April. Enrollment is limited to eight (8) people: email Claudia directly at claudiadzelazny@gmail.com to sign up.
Topics of discussion include the importance of sweating, what is the optimal time for a single sauna session, what is the optimal temperature to use in a Dry Sauna, how to use cold water exposure by itself, or in combination with the dry sauna, and the importance of drinking water.
As part of the Course Theory, all the participants complete the Ruffier (Pulse) Test. This simple test can be used in different aspects of a Wellness or Sports Performance Program including the length of time in a Sauna Session and exposure to cold water.
In April we plan to host Sauna Courses and Certifications for student-practitioners and our clients.
Water is a big deal at Legacy. We have our favorites and are always stocking new water to try. Varying pH values, different mineral content, with a taste to please even the most finicky water drinker and priced by the bottle or by the case so you save!

ELDOA Level 3 Dallas: Dates to be announced
If you are an Instructor Candidate looking to assist a course, contact Claudia in the Business Office to be put on the list.
We ask all ELDOA Practitioners – at any level -to visit the official ELDOA website – eldoavoyer.com – to make sure your contact information is accurate.
Having your correct contact information is very important: so potential clients can find you and so you can receive important information from the Founder and Administrative Office in Dallas.
The way Legacy has our School set up in Dallas allows for Students to travel from all parts of the country for training and continuing education, while at the same time creating the opportunity to invest some of their personal time in their self-care using our Gym and Lifestyle-Recovery Center. We believe that this one-two combination can’t be beaten and we invite you to enroll in a course with us in 2024.
