The Belmont Hotel Dallas

901 Fort Worth Avenue

A six to ten minute ride from Legacy, but on the Oak Cliff side of the Trinity River. Very quiet and quaint with a helpful staff and a Restaurant.
Ask for a room away from the road…much quieter for a good night’s sleep.

The Fairmont Dallas Hotel

Right across the street from the downtown YMCA, if you ask the Concierge, you can receive a free day pass.  There is a sauna in the Ladies’ Locker Room (I assume in the Men’s as well!) though it may not be as fancy as the Anatole.

Fun Fact:  a rose garden on the roof with bee hives is maintained by friends of Legacy’s…Brandon Pollard and wife Susan, with Texas Honeybee Guild.  Their Zip Code honey may be purchased at the Dallas Farmer’s Market.

Restaurant - Grocery Recommendations

THE KOZY KITCHEN – Legacy’s home away from home…gluten-free, grass-fed, wild fish, bison, BYOB; pretty much anything goes. Food to go, if you wish, at
214-219-5044. Tell them Claudia or Scott sent you!

Fun Fact about Kozy:  it was originally a coffee shop, selling mail order coffee cakes.  Since it was a few blocks away from the gym where Scott was working at the time, he asked if they would cook his food for him, providing he would supply the groceries.  They said yes.  Scott brought organic groceries, told them how he wanted them to cook his food, and voila!  Kozy was born.
