Footwear is big business and with marketing making matters more confusing your likely to get a myriad of different professional opinions on what to wear or not… here’s another opinion, per my studies- when weight training wear a shoe. When you add load to the body the bones of the foot have to adapt to the increased tension in the system resulting in the foot posture adapting. Barefoot training and bodyweight training in most cases is acceptable, but for weight-training, wear a flat, solid-sole shoe.
