“By creating and setting an intention every morning, we can focus on what we want to achieve.” – The Universe of Now.
Having a routine can be a wonderful de-stressor! That doesn’t mean you can’t be spontaneous or take advantage of the moment. Having a routine allows you to maintain your natural rhythm and flow. Not being ‘in the flow’ can be stressful since it goes against the way your body and mind operate most effortlessly. Having a routine gives you a proven support mechanism when stuff hits the fan…it is a life-line for when things get very stressful and difficult.
If you don’t have a routine, it is easy to establish one. Think about what you need everyday to be happy and productive. This can be as simple as knowing when you need to eat and what you need for fuel. Imagining the environment in which you work best can help you create the atmosphere you need to be relaxed and productive. Scheduling time for movement, even if it’s just a walk around the block, is a great way to manage stress as it builds during your day. Once you are clear on what your perfect day looks like (writing it down often helps crystalize it) you can make sure every day has those components. The luxury of a well-thought out routine can ameliorate the effects of day-to-day stress.
