SomaPractitioner News: A reply to the post/question, “What is the big deal with sauna… I don’t get it?”

By April 6, 2013December 9th, 2014Daily Posts/Tips

The benefits of sauna are profound. In the United States sauna and sauna therapy is not taught in medical schools but in Europe it is entirely different. In my training with an European Osteopath we have a class that we actually do in the sauna, and another for exercise training course in the sauna as well. In parts of the Netherlands sauna was used for delivering babies. The benefits are too numerous to list but when done correctly, with respect to heart rate and length of time, number of cycles, temperature of the room etc., many, many things can be accomplished with sauna and sauna therapy.
