The ELDOA are postural exercises (LOADS) that you can do yourself with the primary goal being to increase the space within a chosen articulation. As the ELDOA “create” space, there is an improvement in joint mechanics, increased blood flow, reduced pressure on the discs, a reduction of pain, spinal disc rehydration, better muscle tone, improved posture, and a sense of well-being and awareness.
The human spine is a complicated and vital structure. Compression and articular blocks can cause pain, arthritis and neurological conditions. The ELDOA exercises are a highly effective solution to these conditions. The ELDOA are very precise postures that target a specific joint region to provide relief from pain and restore balance.
Benefits of an ELDOA Practice
- The nerve between the vertebrae is depressed.
- The intervertebral disc is hydrated.
- More space is created between the vertebrae.
- The proprioception of the vertebral joint segment is improved.
- All the parts of the annulus fibrosis are stimulated to take in water.
- Posture improves.
- Joint mechanics improve.
- Blood flow increases.
- Pain is reduced.
- Better muscle tone is created.
- Awareness improves.
- Pressure on the discs is reduced.
The ELDOA General Group Classes are designed to enhance a client’s home program, whether that be an ELDOA program or as part of their on-going training program at Legacy. Each class is structured to include ELDOA for each segment of the spine – lumbar, thoracic, cervical – and the exercises are beneficial to anyone and everyone taking the class. The General Group Classes are open to Legacy Center Members and, if space permits, to non-Members wishing to drop-in for a class.
