Monsanto has labeled Roundup as “biodegradable,” “environmentally friendly” and has claimed it “left the soil clean.”
In 2009, a French court found Monsanto guilty of lying.
Glyphosate, the active ingredient in the broad-spectrum herbicide Roundup, has been found by researchers to kill human cells, particularly embryonic, placental, and umbilical cord cells. This weed killer is used in gardens, farms, parks, and neighborhood lawns around the world. Genetically engineered (GE) Roundup Ready crops are generously doused with this product.
What’s more, the ‘inert’ ingredients in Roundup have been found to be anything by inert…they amplify the toxic effect of glyphosate on human cells, even at concentrations much more diluted than those used on farms and lawns.
