This July, Scott Herrera is making a trip to Zurich, Switzerland to teach ELDOA 1&2 Combination Course hosted by Elio Dalla Giovanna of Vero Pilates. Additional workshops such as an Introduction to Myofascial Stretching are being planned for the course. Dates and registration info will be updated on this page once course details are worked out.
ELDOA Level 1&2 Combination Certification Course combines ELDOA Level 1 , The Most Frequently Used ELDOA of the Spine, with ELDOA Level 2, The ELDOA of the Spine, taught in a four-day course format.
The first part of the course is dedicated to topics specific to ELDOA 1: The Educational Paradigm of Guy VOYER, DO and the Teaching Method – “Learn by Doing”, The History of the ELDOA, What are the Goals of the ELDOA?, Introduction to Spine Biomechanics and the Functional Spine Unit of Junghans, and the Philosophy of the ELDOA – “You Are Your Own Best Therapist.”
The second part of the course, The ELDOA of the Spine, concentrates on the following topics: Back Pain: Treat the Symptoms vs. ELDOA – Address the Cause, Good Posture – The Gravity Line and Spine Curvature Disorders, Kapandji Spine Biomechanics and Descriptive Anatomy, Water is Life: Intracellular Water vs. Extracellular Water, and Introduction to Factors of Progression. In this four-day course format, student-practitioners complete both ELDOA Level 1 and Level 2 Certification Courses.
Introduction to Myofascial Stretching is a workshop designed to teach several of the most frequently used MFS postures, based upon the work of Guy VOYER, DO. In this workshop, students break into groups and organize stretching postures that respect the functions of the muscles. Group corrections are made and students discuss the anatomy and biomechanics with respect to the exercise posture. Myofascial stretching respects the anatomy of the muscles, the aponeuroses, and their functions. To date, the analutical study of the fascial chains allows for the incredibly effective stretch position. Myofascial stretching is an excellent compliment to the ELDOA exercises in the ELDOA Cerification Program. This workshop is designed for students of all levels.
