Legacy Education News: Note-taking vs. Laptop Notes & ELDOA 1-2-3

In the new ELDOA program, each manual has a brief section on the Educational Paradigm – “learn by doing”. One aspect of this paradigm is “LISTEN first“, and write down what you don’t know vs. write down everything! To supplement the coursework, Practical Workshops hosted by Legacy Sport & Wellness Center as part of our Professional Development Series and Fellowship Program provide more time to review concepts and information presented in the original coursework coupled with home study and clinical exercises.

“This is suggestive evidence that longhand notes may have superior external storage as well as superior encoding functions,” Mueller and Oppenheimer write.  That might mean there is a stronger connection from the hand to the brain when writing down information, goals, affirmations than one gets from typing.
