Stretching before a workout or game is not a good idea. Using a proper warm-up is a good idea and we discuss that in our workshops: How to Organize A Group Workout. But don’t think that stretching after a workout is a bad idea… in fact, it is a VERY good idea to incorporate ELDOA and Myofascial Stretching into a post-workout routine or as part of a well-organized REGEN session/periodization. As for the image on the article below…we don’t recommend this as a dynamic warm-up for anyone unless you want to kill your lumbar spine first!
