April’s “Physical Fitness and Sports” Tip

The warm-up before an activity is just as important as the stretching and ELDOA at the end of a training session, sport competition, or leisure activity! All this month I have discussed the value of Myofascial stretching (MFS) after exercise, but today for example, before I leave to ski for the day, I will do a short warm-up at the condo… some movements for my spine, translation and proprioception, a little rolling and unrolling of the spine and ABS, and some proprioception for my foot and knee… then out the door to catch the shuttle up to Mt. Crested Butte. Later today I will share part III of my commentary about the benefits of Myo-fascial stretching and share a case history specific to the knee…
