A Healthy Alternative To Sugar: Yacon/Yac-o-power

Sugar is added to most foods these days, including meats. There are different names for sugar or sugar substitutes, for instance- high fructose corn syrup. At the Legacy Sport & Wellness Center in Dallas we recommend clients follow a Non-GMO Diet which includes avoiding all Wheat & Grain products as well as balancing blood glucose levels. What we believe to be a healthy number for blood glucose is between 80-90, but that is a topic for another post. For clients and athletes who struggle with balancing blood glucose levels, and who ask for a healthy alternative to sugar and sugar-substitutes, we recommend Yacon.
